Makum – Digboi road National Highway 38 (NH38) was a short National Highway of india connected Makum and Lekhapani. It covered a distance of 54 Km. The locals believed that this part of the road is haunted. Surprisingly, It is a fact that all the water flows in opposite direction in this area. It is also the longest straight road of Assam. Some people claim that ‘Poruwa’ Ghost often appears and misleads that drivers into causing dangerous road accidents by showing them two road instead of one. The people also claim that most rights whenever any bikers or bicyclists passes by then can often someone pulling their vehicles from behind. Sometimes, they are pullled by a phantom girl and other times, they say there appears a mysterious cow later that cow disappear into air. This road has indeed claimed multipled accidents in the past year. However, some people do not agree with the ghostly claims and say that it happens due to optical illusion as well as because its straight road, have the drivers drive their vehicles too fast.
However this road to be mysterious otherwise the road is very good, clean and the natural view is very beautiful. I travel travel through this road from Digboi in 5th June 2023. I travel the from sunset time and that time the road is looks very attractive. what are your thoughts ?
